Hello! It's been a busy month here at the boat shop as you'll see from our updates. The end of the new boat line is moving quickly towards summer so if you are in a hurry for a boat, check out the boats that are on the Available Now listings. If you want a custom boat for this summer, now is the time to call. We are open Monday thru Friday 9am to 5pm. But if you want a chance to go out on the water for a test ride, please call ahead at Contact us, as we are busy folk down here at the shop.

You may have noticed that we have been doing some more work on our web site. We have some art work of a Whitehall which we've added to the bottom of the pages to spruce things up. We've moved the how to Rig your Sailboat from the FAQ page out to the menu on the left so you can find it easier. We've added more details about our Footstops to their own page from the FAQ page. And added a Custom Colors page to talk about colored gel coats. There is a new page to talk about roller furling for the jib. Some questions from one of our customers generated another FAQ, this time about Anchors.

All of this work is so that you can find out what you need to know faster and easier. And to show you what we are capable of. So we invite you to spend a moment and look around and let us know if there is anything else we should take care of. Our website isn't fancy, it just works, just like our boats. We build boats, not websites. We use our website to help let you know what we know. Knowledge is power and we like to share.

In February the guys from Oar Northwest brought their boat down for some measurements for their Atlantic Challenge. Our current plan is to build a seat and track system using the Melonseed as the basis for the design. We took some measurements and photos and think we have a plan that will work.

As you can see from the photos, we've got our work cut out for us. This boat is a lot larger than anything we build, these rowers are in peak condition and we all know how unforgiving the sea is of mistakes. However Dave knows engineering and boats, so we are confident that we will be up to the job.

Gig Harbor Boats is a family business. So when one of our family comes down to do a quality control inspection, we know that no detail on our boats will be overlooked.
